ANNOTATIONS
Fully Integrated Annotation Authoring
Annotation authoring capabilities are fully integrated into Spectrum and ImageScope† enabling the user to record regions of interest using graphics and text. Annotations can be used to size objects on the slide, and the ruler tool is used for linear measurements. Annotations can also be used to indicate regions of interest for image analysis. Annotations are associated with the digital slide, but are stored as a separate .xml file leaving the original file intact.
- Group annotations into different layers, providing a highly flexible environment for adding graphical and textual highlights
- View some, all, or none of the layers that multiple authors have annotated separately in color-coded layers for maximum flexibility
- Access text references by clicking a graphical annotation
- Take precise measurements with the annotation ruler, and store them in an annotation layer for future reference
- Toggle easily between marked up and non-marked up annotation layers of image analysis markups
- Ensure that your digital slide is unaltered by automatically saving all annotations in a separate .xml file

† ImageScope is a Windows-based application that requires Parallels™ Desktop or VMware Fusion to open digital slide images on a Mac. Alternatively, we offer WebScope, a platform-independent, flash-based viewer that is included with Spectrum.
